I saw some video of that woman this morning

That photo is likely the only time she smiled. She looked uncomfortable, at best. He wouldn't take his paws off her!

She is a desperate survivor, trying to get her life, her house back together. She may very well despise Bush, but is playing along in hopes that this sort of publicity and face time with the President will bring some benefits into her life:shrug:

just trying to quell things and improve his image with cheap photo ops. If she protested him, he would be more likely to do something to help.

If she had protested him, she wouldn't get shit. And in fact knowing had vindictive these little fucks are, any sort of relief that she had any sort of chance at would disappear and FEMA would move her to the top of their list of people needing to pay money back.

13. I am not faulting her, just saying she is unfortunately a pawn in the

game. Protesting, by all those unfortunate people is the ONLY way to get anything ! I mean, I can just hear them in the WH now, "Good, you went down there, hammered a few nails, walked around with your arm on a black person's shoulder - That will shut every one up for a while."

Think the opposite, The Decider goes down there. He is heckled and protested every step along the way. Cameras pick it up. Their plight gets noticed. It forces him to actually do something.

10. Maybe not her children, but I'm sure she...

...naturally enough, is hoping she'll get some help rebuilding her home if she makes nice and gives him the photo-op he wants, or at the very least that the vindictive little prick won't cross her name off of any eligibility lists for rebuilding grants.
