1. If you think that's bad
Greta Van Susteren still talks about Natalie Hollowell every night.

2. I don't doubt it, this cabal is destroying our constitution as fast as
they can shit on it and no ones watch out for us except us. I say we remember this when we finally wrestle this strangle hold they have on our country from their greedy, bloody assed hands too.

6. No, they didn't
As someone who works in that field, I'd guess the family is hiding her somewhere. I doubt that she's dead.

19. (actually, it was a rhetorical question
I knew they didn't find her . . .

And, for the lurking freepers . . . "rhetorical" means asking a question you didn't think anybody would bother to answer . . . don't want to get into too detailed a definition for them . . .)

20. LOL @ the definition
I mainly answered because I was kind of sad that I hadn't thought about it in so long. There seems to be so many things to concentrate on that it's hard to keep track of everything.

7. It's so pathetic.
I was watching LinkTV this morning (excellent channel), and the news programs on there (both international and US news) make me realize just how FUCKED UP our news channels are.

Not that I didn't already know this, mind you. But they're covering stuff like outsourcing/offshoring/insourcing, the diminishing middle class, global warming, environmental disasters at the hands of oil corporations, poverty around the world, Darfur, etc.

What do we get? Entertainment shock-value "news".

10. I podcast internationally to get most of this info
I get podcasts from the BBC, ABC Radio National (Australia), etc... for the news. ABC Australia has many, many good documentaries on their shows. They podcast most of their lineup. Some is Australia-centered but much takes on international news and fills in all the background when discussing issues.

14. I remember when we had much better coverage but it has been
a long time since we had good honest news. By seeing the warts one can get a feel for what is really happening.

11. they will throw a little tidbit in every once in a while to keep our
interest but thats all. If it wasn't the local news in the paper I would have quit them long ago. Just not too many places on the net for that.

12. And they cover it all in a calm, sane, rational manner.
When we used to have Directv, I would purposely have Link on in the background when guests came over.
It was a real eye opener to those used to US 'news'.

17. Yep. No flashy graphics, no boogyman scare tactics
No "what you're eating for dinner could be deadly! Story at 11" shit.

Just real, respectable, fact-based journalism.

16. Move along, no news
Not much news this time of year, really, there's nothing to see and stay off the internet.

Your Great Decider is taking care of you, don't worry about anything. Great Decider will contact the media when something breaks about those evildoer liberals.

22. I don't understand
I have no idea why some disappearances are news and others aren't. There was an 18 year old girl a few miles south of me who went missing about 2 years before Halloway under very odd circumstances. Certainly if the media wanted to they could make a great story about it. Or at least a Lifetime movie. She still has no been found, no one has been arrested, but its not even on our local news anymore, let alone national. I jsut don't see why some stories are taken to the extreme while others are left behind, even though the circumstances are similar.
