If You Had To Choose
between a sex scandal with the guaranteed 'catch' of several repuke congressmen and the 3rd in command at the CIA, and kkkarl being indicted, which would it be?

I know, I know, it's silly, but I have to say I'd find it hard to decide. I'm greedy. I want it all; Abramoff, indictments, lurid details from a sex scandal that results in humiliation, indictments and resignations, and kkkarl in the dock.

Here's to hoping for a bumper crop of republican scandals in the coming months.

1. Isn't it kind of sick and twisted to hope for the sex scandal?
I guess it depends on what kind of scandal it was exactly, but anything with a victim strikes me as something no one should wish or hope for--even if it discredits an opponent.

6. The sex scandal
purportedly involves prostitution. I don't see it as a crime with a victim. Of course, anything that involves a victim is anything one should be cheering on. I never implied in any way that it was.

3. Hard to choose...
Getting Rove out of the '06 election cycle would be extremely helpful, however sex scandals sell (especially in today's infotainment news cycles).

I'd choose Rove getting indicted.

5. The congressmen one...
I know Karl is the policy guy and key strategist and stuff like that, but Bush is gone after 2008. People involved in the kind of shit those Congressmen might be involved in shouldn't be involved in the legislative branch.

7. You're deciding between quality and quantity
The sex scandal aspect should be dealt with through censure. Disgrace all those family values frauds and don't hesitate to bring it up every time thy try to claim the moral high ground.

However, Rove will provide an actual indictment with the possibility of an informative plea bargain versus a very public and humiliating trial.

I go for quality every time.

It's like buying a cheap pair of shoes three times a year versus an expensive pair that will last a whole year and then some. The cheap ones usually are a false economy because when you add up the total cost over a year, they're more expensive than the well built shoes. Indicting Congressmen over a sex scandal will tend to bog this country down forever as opposing parties sniff for sexual filth because it's an easy way to get rid of someone they don't like, something that may prove hideously expensive. Indicting Rove will be more expensive in the short term, as will be the trial/plea bargain. However the benfit from exposing the foul truth about a party run amok will be to our advantage in years to come.

10. That depends. If sex was used as a bribe for votes
that's a very big deal and calls for far more serious repercussions than censure. As far as the country being bogged down over sex scandals forever, that ship sailed long ago. Sure, the ante was upped with Clinton, but it's hardly new that opposing parties go after one another on dirt. In addition, I think it would be healthy to expose the morals crowd for the hypocrites they are, and that could have beneficial results.

I think we're going to get them both -- a twofer. (Almost typed a twofew, which would also be true).
