If republican's get their way we'll all get a whopping $100 gas rebate check. What a bail out in this times of need!

I think I'll spend my $100 on filling up my minivan and car just 1 time. It will last me a week and I'll basically be in the same place I am today. Spending money I don't have on gas.

15. Yup. Me, too! You betcha'.
But, what a fucking stupid proposal, "$100 rebate"! :puke: It's not addressing the problem, which is that these companies are gouging the hell out of the American people and being given tons of "the people's" monies to do it.

Why not make them PROVE they're utilizing their welfare toward alternative energy sources? Why not PUNISH them for controlling the market such that the common man is being exploited just for existing in the U.S.A.? Why not threaten to break those freakin' monsters up into twenty separate companies, independently owned and operated, if they fail to reign in their profiteering abuses?

$100 rebate is meaningless, nothing, stupid, irrational, garbage in terms of problem-solving. Typical of the GOP pigs at the trough!!! :grr:

Give 'em to relative's kids to pay off the national debt used to send out the $100 'tip.'

Seriously, those on fixed incomes and the long-term unemployed won't see that $100. That's only for folks with incomes. Those who're hurting the most won't see shit.

21. I'M GONNA KEEP IT.
Because I don't use an environment-killing, labor-exploiting, gas-guzzling mechanical monster machine to get from Point A to Point B. I live in a city where I'm able to live very comfortably without a car (I wish everybody could!). $100 will actually cover about 3 months of mass transit costs for me. It's about time somebody rewarded me for all the damn walking I do!

BUT seriously, for those of you who do drive.... this is idiotic. What is $100 to you? A week of gas? Two weeks?

I'd entirely prefer not to get it. I'd prefer if it went to the national debt, or to the EPA for research on renewable and cleaner energy. I'd prefer if it went to getting armor for our troops. I'd prefer if it went to getting new text books for our schools, or better loans for higher education students.

Edited on Fri Apr-28-06 03:48 PM by LaPera
UP! And don't forget to vote republican!!!

$100.00 of our own tax dollars...that we'll have to repay the following year...BushCo blames the American people for wanting & needing gas...

One of Bush's first acts as president was to immediately demolished legislation for higher mandatory MPG in ALL vehicles! Use more gas, buy more gas, more profits, more...more...

Now take take $100.00 leave the oil companies to their billions in PROFITS...and for that hundred bucks we expect to drill in the pristine Alaskan wilderness and give the oil to the oil companies to sell back to you at gouging prices...and give the oil companies a tax break and subsidies from our tax dollars....Groovy!!!!
