I can tell ya, historians are salivating to write about the failed policies of George Bush. I'm not a presidential historian, but I know several, and all of them agree that this is the worst presidency in US history.

I wonder why Bush thinks that the next generation of historians--our kids who will be paying off his massive deficit and for his failed invasion of Iraq; who face Bush-initiated shortfalls in public higher ed--will actually find something positive to say about his presidency. This as much as anything else shows me how deluded Bush is.

It's going to be fun to watch--and read.

3. in the future if his policies continue
historians will have to "watch what they say, and watch what they do."
Criticizing the reign and policies of George W. Bush will be safe only from a great distance from the United States.

2. Just like the war can't end til he gets out of office
The guy keeps passing the buck for everything. What he's really saying is NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO JUDGE HIM. Once he's dead, who cares?

4. I'd much rather be reading about Clinton's boring administration
when the country was at peace and solvent.

6. Here's what historians are already saying
Even if you don't know a lot of historians, they've been surveyed and they're starting to coalesce around the position that Bush is, indeed, the worst president in history.

9. He makes Nixon look good
Dicky was a twisted, deeply troubled man, but I don't doubt he loved this country. I can't say the same for Bush; he's indifferent to this nation and its people.

Why wait for historians? Is our ability to judge predicated on time passage? The guys a butthead. It won't get better. condi says this all the time, its the political free pass, "We are not to be judged, so there."
