An old photo I recently ran across. (large-ish)
I have a friend who was a caretaker for an older man who recently passed away. My friend was able to choose from possessions that were in this mans family for years because for whatever reasons, his kids didnt want them.

Amazing photos of bombs on Nevada bases back in the day, pictures of the Golden Gate being built, a huge crazy decoy duck boat....Things I would adore.

But my favorite picture is this one. Its the mans father with President Johnson in year unknown.
Notice him pointing at his awesome plate.

I love this photo.

(crossposted in the lounge, but I wanted everyone to be able to take a look.)

1. Wow, that's a really cool photo. It was truly a different age.

Men wore suits and ties in the hot sun,
and the last of the TAILFINS still roamed free!

EDIT: Hey, it just occurred to me:
That 'age' was way more 'different' than I first realized;
you have photographic proof that REAL PRESIDENTS used to go out in public
with nary a masked, heavily-armed STURM-trooper to be seen!

3. Some of us here still admire LBJ (see my avatar)
That is a great photo (great car, too!). Thanks for sharing it.
John
My buddy, Andy the Right Wing Republican, has an autographed photo of his grandfather with Ronald Reagan. While it gives me the heebie-jeebies, I can understand why Andy is proud of it. Hell, the only nationally noteworthy politician I've ever shaken hands with in my 49 years was George Wallace (though I did meet and have a brief conversation with G Mennen ("Soapy') Williams -- a legend in Michigan, but probably not all that well known nationally).

I was hoping that this wouldnt cause a flame war because he is so sensitive, thats why i decided to post it in the evening.
