5. Hey Nuking all those people will make voting a lot smoother.
OK that's maybe a little too darkly cynical.

6. 182 Dems on the record in support of the next insane debacle
There goes our edge in November.

Thanks, idiots. You have changed my mind about repetition being the greatest teacher. Some people never learn apparently.

Do they not remember how much trouble Kerry had with this issue?

Oh well. I'm assuming they are legitimate reps when in fact they are whores.

9. How are we instilling Democracy?
When they voted for their President? They may not like the Iranian government or the President, or the way they run the government, but hell, that could be said about us as well.. Many countries feel we are not running our government right either.....

15. They elected off a screened list
Was there any women up for office in that last election? Was there anybody in favor of religious and press freedoms up for election? No, they weren't.

It is too bad about that Iranian election. Abminijad only got about 35% of the vote the first time and had to rely on a run-off eletion to get eleted president (in Iran you must have at least 50% of the vote to be elected.) The runner up was a man who wanted improved relations with the U.S.

Oh, how much better that would have been.

17. It's not our country that we want action on
Edited on Sat Apr-29-06 06:30 PM by bigtree
Iran hasn't threatened us. We don't have providence over the rest of the world outside of our ability to punish them with our military. That's our dog in the fight. Our ability to dictate through the threat of our force. The United Nations has so far resisted that. It may be the only major world institution which has the potential to rally enough opposition to an attack to put Bush off. Didn't work before, though.

I still think it's not enough to accept that he'll go around them anyway, and become cynical about opposing them in the forums which are available to us.

A U.N. resolution, the Chapter 7 type that Bolton called for, is the same pretext that Bush built his phony case for his invasion and occupation of Iraq with. Foot in the door.

18. I guess it depends on how you define threat
Iran hasn't threteaned us? They have refused to cooperate with the EU and have now announced that they may share their nuclear technology with other countries. I see this as a clear threat directly towards the U.S. We should also remember that the President of Iran has denied the Holocaust occured, has called for Israel to be wiped of the face of the earth and it becomes clear that trusting in the sanity of Abminijad is insane.

It's time the U.N. Security council recognised this threat for the real danger it poses. It is perhaps the only possible route to avoid war.

21. you included your own bias when you equate the peaceful nuclear
program Iran has described with the Bush regime meme that it is in fact a 'weapons' program.

No one, not even our own national intelligence director, Negroponte thinks they have the capability to produce one, and the IAEA and others have not been able to find evidence that Bombs are Iran's intention.
