"I have never voted Democratic, but come this next election, I will..."
Edited on Sat Apr-29-06 05:48 PM by Blue_Roses
a collegue at work said to me today--not to mention several others who chimmed in. Her disgust with Bush and the republican party has driven her to the "other side" she said.

I listened to her and several others complain about gas prices, the war and the corruption AND she was still talking about it as she got up from lunch and went back to work! It's sad that our country has to go to hell in a handbasket before people wake up.:eyes:

4. let us remember the little news they do get is spun to repugs
they rarely show dems adn when they do they dismiss ridicule spin what the dem is saying. or scold them for attacking the repugs. they have reinforced all the neg talking points of the dem. so for you friend to vote dem, even with her disgust to repug, is a big pat on the back for her.

most of the people are not informed like we are on this board

6. Most broadcast news is at least partially disinformation
When they turn on the talking heads on cable, it is 75% or more disinformation except for Fox, which is the GOP propaganda channel.

When they turn on hate radio it is 100% disinformation, unless they are listening to AAR.

5. I, for one, can't believe how many people swing back and forth.
The basic tenets of the Dems and Repubs haven't changed that much. When bush was selected, where were the brains of the people who have now changed their minds? I have been Democratic since I first became politically aware (1967). Yeah< I vote straight across the line. How else do we get things done?

8. They aren't voting based on any real core values they have
They are voting on what looks like the best deal for them on election day.

A lot of people have no real core values, politically. Whichever way the wind blows, they vote that way, if they bother with the process at all.

9. Well the way I see it is, the Republicans have been playing mind games
with people since they own the news media and talk radio. These folks minds are so weak and easy to control that I've decided to play mind games with these people. EVERY TIME I get gas or purchase anything I start my pitch, saying that I just can't believe that I was so fooled by Bush and the Republicans that I voted for them. And I'll never vote Republican again since I see the truth on what is going on in our country and I'll never believe what I'm told again by a Republican. This line of crap really gets people thinking and they agree with me that they will never vote Republican again also. My husband laughs his butt off every time I do this.
TRY THIS FOLKS, IT'LL MAKE YOUR DAY!

7. I heard some republican types at the gas station complaining about
their boy.

It was the kind of conversation you never used to hear around here.

10. I saw my ex-Mother In Law today
She's a registered Republican (voted Kerry '04)
She doesn't even want to vote in the primarys next week. She says the 'pubs are all criminals and can't believe anyone could support this pres.

I told her to change her affiliation to Dem or Indy, but I'm not even sure how to go about it.
Can she change it at the polling place Tuesday?
Too late?
