and usually rather promptly, I might add . . . between GD and the links referenced here, I can pretty much stay abreast of what's happening in the world -- without ever having to listen to a talking head (of either the network or cable variety) . . .

It's very often that DU breaks news hours, or even days, before my local news outlets. Heh, and sometimes months before CNN, MSNBC, etc.

I don't watch TV news, and this sure beats the hell out of NPR.

Thanks to DU'ers like Sabra, Clara T, William Pitt, and many others, I don't feel like I'm in the dark about what's going on in this messed-up country.
