Ben is heading back to 29 Palms in CA in a few days. He has been at his dads in MN and he is hating it. His best friends have kept him sane. That and a bunch of partying! He's healing up nicely but is depressed about his buddies in Ramadi and the fact that he can't run. Thanks for asking!

She did state that in 1969 aportion wasn't legal then and what she had to go through - the dehumanizing treatment and the next caller pointed out that its only been 90 years since women were even able to vote and that certainly Alito wouldn't turn back the clock 32 years - and KAte said she thought it might happen. Man, I really wanted to hear the rest of that show.

She stated that people did need to be responsible and take appropriate measures to prevent pregnancy, but stated that birth control is not 100% effective and that sometimes circumstances arise beyond your control. She state that she would hate to think that children be viewed as a "punishment". She also went on to talk about how she chose to have an abortion after her husband abandoned her with 3 children to raise, and she discovered she was pregnant. She talked about how difficult the decision was for her, but that she decided that she could not take any risk that she would be unable to provide for her 3 young children.

43. My Mom Went Through the Same

I am sorry for your experience. My mom had her son, but left him with my grandmother because she just coudn't deal with a daily reminder. Things have been patched up for the most part, and he is now a welcomed member our family, but it hasn't been easy for anyone involved. The experience has been traumatic and we are all very fortunate it did not turn out so bad.

It's taken many many years, and I still don't know how my mom really feels about it all. Its a terrible twisted misfortune to look at ones child's face and see the man that raped you. How to love that face after something like that is a torture.
