Bush flopped at tonight's WH Correspondents Dinner....
The skit with the "other" Dubya was written to give the "first" Dubya the opportunity to be the straight guy at the end of the skit and show that he was truly concerned about our troops in Iraq. They would not have it any other way. Their hope was that this bit of "humor" from the President would raise his poll numbers a bit before they totally disappear down a black hole.

However, it was not Colbert that flopped tonight - it was Dubya. Beware of the spin to come...

3. The gratuitous, fullofbullshitisious blivet failed tonight, never fended
for himself but had to bank on a comic lookalike to defend (heh) him? He's toast, inept, incompetent, done.

6. Dimson needing the crutch of a 2nd actor on the stage said it all for me.
He is clearly too incompetent and was clearly too scared to appear all by himself. Just like he went out with a couple soldiers to throw that first pitch at a baseball game a couple weeks back.

8. yeah -- they drag Steve Bridges all the way across the country ...
and even that (Bridges, plus the makeup and script people) can't make Bush look funny!
