Moonie Times: Abramoff-linked probe focuses on 5 lawmakers
Law-enforcement authorities and others said the investigation's opening phase is scrutinizing Sens. Conrad Burns, Montana Republican; Byron L. Dorgan, North Dakota Democrat; and Minority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, along with Reps. J.D. Hayworth, Arizona Republican, and Bob Ney, Ohio Republican.

OK -- what the hell is going on here

4. If you want to be non-partisan you investigate anyone who could be involv
ed.

They will find no wrong-doing by Reid and Dorgan and fry the others. Then Ney and his co-convicts will roll on the rest of the GOP.

That's my dream.

5. It's a bunch of bullhockey. They have been told to keep the
meme out there that Dems are complicit even though they're not. Eventually they're going to have to
either shit or get off the pot about the Dems' involvement. For now, it wouldn't look too good if all they had were Repugs to call out.
Abramoff's party loyalties wouldn't allow him to give to/bribe the Dems, not that I think Dorgan or Reid would accept bribes.
When indictments start rolling in, the truth will out.

7. Dorgan and Reid did nothing wrong
They received campaign contributions from some of the Indian tribes that did business with Abramoff. But they also represent states that have sizable Native American populations. Unless someone can show that the Abramoff-linked tribes contributed to Reid and Dorgan for any specific quid-pro-quo votes, there's no crime here.

The Moonie Times is a right-wing mouthpiece, and they spew very little that disagrees with the GOP talking points.

8. CSPAN showed the cover and emphasized the Dems supposedly involved
even though the fucking FEC said NO Abramoff money went to Democrats. Gah! :grr:

Pedro is usually a bit more balanced. He could have also shown the FEC statment that NO Dems took any Abramoff money and let the viewers digest that without actually commenting.

10. "... and others...."
It's in the "others." When you read this time of nonsense, close your eyes, click your heals three times, and say, "Liar, liar, pants on fire!" and we will recapture the House.

16. If Don Corleone gave $5 to 2 Democrats, and $9,999,995 to
George W. Bush, Moonie's headline would be "Democrats caught in bribery bed with Godfather!"

17. Let the Chips fall where they may.
I don't think any Democrats are involved. They never went to Scotland to play golf but if they are now is the time to find out....This is a Republican Scandal and it is very endemic to them
