4. My letter to Stephen Colbert

Dear Mr. Colbert,

You faced Bush the way that Troy Hurtubise faces grizzly bears-- those godless eating machines mobilized against humanity that want our honey. And our picnic baskets.

Perhaps they expected to hear your bear-schtick. Perhaps they expected you to "be their trained monkey."

That's not what they got.

And I am proud of you.

Not since Mark Antony came to bury Caesar, not to praise him did someone walk in and blindside the halls of power the way that you did.

You didn't roast Bush, you buried him.

You stood in front of an audience of the most powerful people in the world and accused them of treason.

I would have soiled myself.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

for having the courage to confront the Elephants in the room and by giving voice to what so many of us have been screaming at our tv sets for so long.

I hope our words of encouragement help, as I fear he may be in for a rough time for speaking 'truthiness' to power.
