Hatch is so full of shit, he holds his breath when he hears toilets flush. |
|
His response to a caller on CSPAN this morning when she criticized Alito's membership in the racist-sexist Concerned Alumni of Princeton was to say that anyone who knew Alito would know he had dedicated his life to fighting for the cause of civil rights. In almost the same breath, he criticized "Democrat colleagues" <sic> for partisan attacks while spewing nothing but official GOP Talking Points.
Still gaseous after all these years.

2. Alito never apologized for being a member of CAP, |
|
but rather said that he didn't remember joining the group. Funny, he remembered it when he bragged about it on a job application years after he had joined the group.
Anyone can make a dumb choice-Robert Byrd joined the KKK in his youth. But Sen. Byrd has since denounced the Klan, and said he regretted his actions. The fact that Salito has not done something this forthright makes all his statements suspect, imho.

3. The fact that he bragged about it on an application he submitted at 35 |
|
makes moot Hatch's claim that what people do in their youth should have no bearing on how they're judged now--which is a load of crap anyway.

4. Yeah, but to GOPhers, 35 is still a kid. |
|
Remember that Bush's past follies were chalked up to "youthful indiscretions" even though he was in his early 40s before he gave up all those drugs and alcohol.

6. Hell, yes. Thirty-five is young for Repubs. Why, Henry Hyde |
|
was still humping other men's wives into his fifties, and writing his behavior off as "youthful indiscretions." And the Honorable Mr. Hyde is widely accepted as a statesman.

He doesn't remember saying he would recuse himself re: Vanguard, he doesn't remember joing CAP, Condi just "forgot" the yellow cake story was phony. I'm starting to see a pattern.

7. I wonder how Bishop Orrin Hatch |
|
An Elder in the Church of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons), who also happens to be a U.S. Senator, feels about the potential of having FIVE Roman Catholics on the Supreme Court? Must be some interesting conversations back in Salt Lake.

9. I try not to go by people's looks... |

... but, I'm sorry. Hatch looks like a closet chicken-fucker to me, and I'm just not going take seriously anything a secretive fowl molester would say. (Yeah, now try to get that image out of your mind. :P )
