Just how screwed are our Vets?
Worse than you can imagine. And not just the vets coming out of Iraq. Check out the number of prescriptions for anti-depressants and anti-anxiety drugs, and most are those returning to the war zone. Heck, just read the article.

"...VA's top officials submitted budget requests based on cost limits demanded by the White House, not on realistic expectations..."

1. John just came home and he seemed pretty happy just to be home.
He talks about things very casually. Hope he is alright inside.

3. My brother served two tours in Viet Nam
and has not had to cope with long term effects, unlike friends I have who are dealing with PTSD. I hope it is the same with John.

6. Me too, and I learned the hard way.. I was like 6 or 7 and our neighbor
was a Nam Vet, and he had it and I didn't know it.. We were standing out side talking and a tire blew off a truck that was going down the road.. He completely freaked out, and jumped on top of me pinning me under him.. I was too young to really understand it, but my parents explained it to me later when I was a little older.. He thought he was saving me from a grenade or gun shots.. My Dad had to peel him off of me.. I had gravel in my palms and in my knees.. It scared the crap out of me, but I can't begin to imagine what he was going through.. Still makes me sad to think about it..

4. Some people have a funny way of showing support the troops
How can they support the troops without giving them money for their benifits? Hell these are the same people that are for the war but wont fight in it.
