L.A. mayor picks NFL talks over immigrant boycott
Antonio Villaraigosa, Los Angeles first Latino mayor, has decided to skip the May 1st immigrant protest and instead attend a meeting with officials of the National Football League.

Villaraigosa will be meeting with the NFL in Dallas on Monday to discuss bringing a football team back to Los Angeles.

Villaraigosa, the son of a Mexican immigrant, has long championed immigrant rights. But he has urged restraint in the May Day event, asking protesters to be "lawful and respectful" and children to stay in school.

2. Well, duh. Any illegal dumb enough to drop all will be outing himself.

Arrests and prison populations will skyrocket. And the government won't be able to collect social security (and other?) taxes from them either. A drop in governmental income.

(and it's more feasable than showing how little they really do contribute because there are far more legal workers here than illegal ones.)

Amusing, these evening newscasts too. They're all showing only one side of the issue - and you can guess the side it is. (Bush's side.)

3. he's the mayor of Los Angeles, not TJ - he ought to be doing his job
which is to represent all the citizens, not just the ones of his ethnic group.

Dont think he will have an luck with the millionaires in the NFL - they only speak cash
payoffs, not english or spanish

4. Antonio is an opportunist. His actions have continually shown that

he's all about Antonio and what will help him in his next election.

This is more proof of the reality of his ego and narcissistic impulses.

When push comes to shove, his priority over the largest LA protest is of course the National Football League.

The caliber, or lack thereof obviously, speaks for itself.
