Poll question: What was better this week Neil Young's new album or Steven Colbert ?
Been a good week, had a friend call me and say that things might be turning, we shall see.
Steven's put down of the elites of government and media and Neil's new alblum.

what would be the hat trick

1. False dilemma: both are signs of the times or at least a relief
to us in their own way, as you put it.

2. I voted both, I am thankful for what we got although a hat trick would
be nice.

3. Colbert hand down ...
A musician coming out against a president is nothing new ... Heck, Young is about the 40th musician to come against these clowns ... It is nice and all, but the "establishment" is tone death to musicians at this point, and the musicians are really just preaching to the choir ...

Colbert blistered this clown, and he had to sit there and take it ... For starters ... It was more than that, though ... He TOTALLY took the media to the woodshed ... Again, with them having to sit and take it ... Frankly, it was a seminal moment ... They all should be freakin ashamed of themselves, and he laid it out for them ...

4. No disagreement but I think the album might have a longer impact
I love the Colbert report and hope more people will tune in now.
However they can only play his full C-span dinner speech on C-span
which I think all Americans and the world should view his put down in it's entirety
and not a 10 second spot on the news.

Neil's album will drill into the public again and again with Air Time and hopefully he will make a video for ie. VH-1, MTV.

I have forwarded all my friends the full version of Colbert's speech to view and Neil's album to listen to.

5. I vote for Young, Colbert, and the terrific march in NYC
You cannot know how great it was to go to the march on the CT Peace Train, walk with thousands and thousands and thousands of people on a gorgeous NYC day, then get home at 11 to stream Living With War and read about Colbert. All together--a great respite from the usual gloom.

7. Maybe a half a million people of course the media didn't cover it
I had to show my neighbor the pictures of the march last night because he didn't believe it happen, cause he didn't see it on TV or read about it (hardly reads a newspaper anyway and is not on the internet)

That was a pretty good hat trick for you, wish I was there.

9. Was I right or not?
I knew Colbert's put down would not get played in the airwaves except for the web.
now let us see if Neil's album gets airtime and how long it takes how much and how long it will last

8. a meaningless choice --- both were great --
Edited on Sun Apr-30-06 11:14 PM by charles t
Young's album may be the most effective album ever

and Colbert may have delivered the largest dose of truth that Bush has ever been given
