Stephen,

You have the guts, the brains and the chutzpah to do something that few could--or would--ever do. As with Jon Stewart, you, and the others who work on either or both of your shows, are far braver than most Americans right now who are in a position to affect the world, and that's saying a lot. The mainstream media obviously doesn't give a damn about objectivity or a slant that is even a smidge more toward the center, and except for a few exceptions, even the Democratic leadership is without a solid bone in its collective body.

Those of us who are mostly powerless (except to raise our voices in weak dissent) can do nothing but live vicariously through the adventures of those who can lead us out of this horrific nightmare, and believe it or not, you are currently one of those who will be in the front of this "rebellion."

It's pretty scary that our country can find its main source of solace in people who were not originally designated to be heroes, but whose main aim in life was to offer some humor about the world we live in. Now, it appears that humor is the only thing we can count on, humor from those who can show that even the worst of tragedies needs to have a lighter side at some point, or none of us would survive to live another day.
