How a Kerry supporter got $10 from the state GOP

Great story -
to sum up, a local Kerry supporter kept the yard sign on his lawn. An anonymous neighbor did not like it, and sent him a letter saying "for every month you keep the sign up, I will donate to the GOP"
The sign stayed up.
Weeks later, the Kerry supporter gets a letter from the state GOP saying "thanks for your donation". BUT - in Missouri, it is illegal to make a donation in someone elses name.
The Kerry supporter writes the state GOP to point out that he made no such donation. The GOP returns the $10 money order to him, as there was no other indication as to who it may have come from.

that Nowak passed along the $10 to the DNC, and let her pushy intrusive neighbor know about it. If this individual was truly "fortunate enough" to be able to give far in excess of the $175 that Nowak donated to Howard Dean's campaign, the paltry $10 certainly didn't do much to validate that claim. Since it all blew up in his face in the manner of an illegal political donation, the underwhelming monetary value in itself doesn't count for much, with the possible exception of his exponentially increased bullshit factor.

I hate that. I wouldn't ever steal someone else's sign even if it's a Bush sign. It's their right to have it in their yard just like it's our rights to have our Kerry signs and bumperstickers without being harassed.
