It is quite amazing to see CNN showing their cute little, as they re calling them, "Double Dubya" bits as if that's all there was. Over and over it is being characterized as an example of the good nature and humour of Bush. I have not one time heard them even mention that Stephen Colbert was present.....Disgusting...That just proves how right Colbert was!

4. C-span ran it from start to finish this morning..
....they will probably air it again, unless the tape somehow gets 'disappeared.'
....it was a riot.
.....but it seemed as if people were almost afraid to laugh hysterically because what colbert was saying was so, so true!

8. I"ve been out of news loop last few days
and haven't been around DU for a bit. I logged on and was rewarded with all the YouTube video of his performance. I REALLY want to see this catch fire with requests to CSPAN and more news coverage of the event and reaction so it hits a point where even MORE people tune into and are impressed by Colbert on a NIGHTLY basis--not just this one powerful event.

I"ve been a faithful Daily SHow viewer since 1999, a faithful "Member" of Colbert Nation since last October...the greatest truth is found in satire when excessively powerfully abuse that power and attempt to stifle dissent.

3. Wow, if CNN does not report on this--then we can...
...all assume that the network has marching orders NOT to show it.

I mean, it was the biggest story of the night. Undeniably.

That's truly remarkable that CNN did not mention Colbert's performance.

I just posted about Drudge's comments about Colbert. According to Drudge, the pResident has no say about who speaks/performs. He thinks that the administration was completely surprised by the deep and humiliating way that Colbert gave Junior the smack down. The way Drudge describes it--he said the pResident was visibly upset and tore out of the room--after Colbert spoke--like he was running from a fire.

It sounds like Junior was incredibly humiliated and pissed off. I guess he was running for the phone--calling all of the major media execs and ordering them to censor any clips of Colbert's performance.

The omission sure says a great deal.

I don't see how the MSM will be able to ignore this story. The Internet is on fire about this, and I think this story has legs. The pResident had his ass handed to him.

I'm still laughing about Colbert. It was one of the funniest damn things I've ever seen.

5. CNN or CNN Headline News actually did show some Colbert.
It was an item that was awkwardly interspliced with the impersonator, and the few of Colbert's zingers that they used were hardly the best, but it was definitely there.

But you're right, the lookalike has gotten more attention so far.

Funny that you posted just before this.

7. I guess I missed the times they showed anything of Colbert.
I saw it about 3 or 4 times and all that was shown at those times was Dubya....:)

11. Well, for what it's worth, I saw it only once.
And, like you, about three or four of the impersonator.

9. That thing made jr look like a bigger fucking moron that ever.
Showed a TOTAL lack of dignity and respect for the office. The bastard ought to be tar and feathered for laying that particular embarrassment on the citizens of the US.

12. I thought it was scary, looking at two Juniors!
I mean, really! One Junior is more than our world can handle.

Seeing two of him just gave me the creeps!

It was like watching those creatures from the movie "Gremlins" multiply!

Please don't feed Junior after midnight!

Imagine if they start churning out clones ... it's scary enough seeing Poppy and Dubya together.
