2. Boston media interviews have them going to work due to "your fired if |
|
you don't come in" warnings.
This may be a much smaller Demonstration than was anticipated.

Here in San Francisco the first rally doesn't start until 11 a.m. pst and second one is scheduled to start around 4 p.m. pst. For the moment, not as many people downtown as compared to other Mondays... MUNI (this city's street car system) seemed sparser. Usually, it's a lot more crowded this time of the morning.

He just got back walking the rent check over to our landlords who have their offices in the same business complex as ours. There are currently two new buildings being built, and the majority of the workers are Hispanic, and they normally start before 7. He said the only person he saw was a red-headed, very-fair-skinned man in a construction helmet, standing around looking confused.
This is in Tulsa by the way.

7. They were supposed to have one at the gate of the |
|
racetrack here on Long Island, but no one showed up. They are all working.
It seems that even the organizer didn't show up.
I don't know how it is at racetracks in other parts of the country, but here in NY, the workers are given free child care, free health care and dormitories. I think a good groom makes more than a teacher. So if the people here had participated in a protest I think it would have had to be outsiders.
It was business as usual here this morning.
