let me share a short story on war, leadership, |
and patriotism.i had just made 3rd class p.o.we were in the med in the aegean sea between greece and italy.it was 1965 and the cold war was heating up,we were russian sub chasing and i had the boatswain mate of the watch on the bridge our div chief was also on the bridge,i told the chief that i hoped something would happen,he stated"no you don`t son"he commenced to give me a lecture on war and leadership that i carry today, only go to war when you have, otherwise talk your ass off,no one gets killed, status quo is better then loosing 290 men,man i never realized until about 5 years later riding a pbr how right the chief was,god bless him,he`s with davy jones now peace bro.

3. The following quote is so true . . . |
"Men acquainted with the battlefield will not be found among the numbers that glibly talk of another war." - Dwight D. Eisenhower, speech in Chicago, 06/02/1946
