News Station in Dallas Indicates May 1 Protests BACKFIRING -->
Edited on Mon May-01-06 12:42 PM by Dr. Jones
Dallas Channel 4 News (KDFW) 12:00pm news says only about 50 people are gathered at Dallas City Hall, not much of a turnout. They also interviewed a Hispanic contractor who was upset that a couple of his workers called and told him they weren't coming to work today, and this is what he said: "They told me they're not coming into work today, WHY? I'm looking for new workers now."

Just as many suspected, this May 1 protest to show the impact of illegal immigrants on the U.S. economy seems to be backfiring.

from the big boys. Seriously. They are still Bush-loving news.

Was there any other conclusion that could be reached?

You have a million illegal aliens marching in the streets demanding we change our laws to suit them and they thought that people would cheer and support them?

This may be the dumbest rally in the history of America.

Most of the people protesting are ILLEGALS! That is the whole point of the protests, to show the effect of illegal immigrants on the American economy.

39. No, it isn't -- it's to show how important immigrants are to the US
especially in service-industry jobs. And, especially Hispanic immigrants, since they are the ones currently being demonized by the anti-immigration crowd. NOT to show how "Illegals" are important.

Why don't you check city hall around 4:30, when the protest is scheduled.

where the first rally is supposed to be held, then head on over to city all at 4:30 and see if you still want to tell everyone about how you knew the protest would fail.

That's still four hours until the actual protest.

And, if the numbers aren't there in Dallas, Chicago has MORE than made up for it.

44. So are the news crews filming at the location marchers would be at now?
Which, as another poster pointed out, is Cornyn's office.

From what you posted, it sounds like they're filming at the place where marchers aren't planning to be until 4 hours from now. So, they're showing the early birds who have arrived 4 hours early and saying this shows people won't be there?

That wouldn't be because they hope to discourage people from going, would it? :freak:

Since people have started arriving so early, I think that indicates the opposite will likely happen and the turnout will be there at the time scheduled.

but that doesn't mean people won't show up in other cities. In Denver, CO there huge masses of people, they shut a whole wide street for a mile or so.

When some people don't like what they hear, they try to discredit in any way they can. Even though they KNOW that FOX News local stations are not one in the same as FOX News CABLE. Which by the way you would not catch me dead watching that crappy WH propaganda station.
