the japanese government is considering raising
immigration quotas for foreign workers because their industries are short of steel workers and other skilled trades...i can`t get a jobin a steel here but they`ll hire me in japan? too bad i`m to old.

1. Japan has a declining population.
I think it has something to do with the expectations placed on married women, in part.

Are you really too old? I think Japan might be a good place to retire to, though they probably have a shortage of elderly care workers as well.

3. Way better health care than here
A friend lives there -- he moved there in 1987 to teach English. He's loved living there. He and his Japanese wife and his two kids moved here 18 months ago -- he wanted his kids to live here soon. He stayed nine months, then went back to Nippon. He said he couldn't believe how things had declined here. And, he is a pretty conservative guy.
