15. Actually, I was critizing her choice of words. |
|
Not yours.
That is, she said Nobel prize, but she should have said Pulitzer.

9. I think Jon has his eye on a network gig |
|
My guess is that Colbert flips and turns Liberal after FR and Daddy O'Reilly bash the hell out of him for his speech, then he takes over TDS when Jon leaves. I've been writing his "transformation" in my head since Saturday night. :)

13. I predict that Jon will take over for Dave Letterman |
|
Edited on Mon May-01-06 03:16 PM by SoCalDem
Good and bad for us..he will be constrained a bit, but Jon's a sly one (like Dave) and having a larger audience will work for him..
and Jon could even revitalize the show. It could end up being like The Tonight Show was in the beginning. They used to have 'regulars' and sketch comedy was a big part of the repertoire. Jon has a cadre of talented people who would go with him in a heartbeat.
I think Dave's getting more interested in time off with his son and in racing. He doesn't seem to be enjoying the show as much these days.. I think he'll retire soon. I wqill miss him, but if Jon;s the new guy, I will also rejoice:) He would beat the pants off Leno and/or Conan

16. Hey, don't knock Conan. |

That being said, Jon would beat the pants off him if he were tapped to replace Ferguson. Or Leno, if he replaced Letterman.

18. I don't think it will be Ferguson.. He's not "mainstream" enough yet |
|
I think it will be Jon.. he's already in NYC and is well known to young people.. CBS has always "suffered" from "old-age demographics" , and will probably NEED a young guy. They want the late night show to run for a long time, and grow an audience. Jon could do that. He's polite enough and well spoken enough to hold the older viewers, since his sense of humor is very "Dave-ish" and yet he's cutting edge enough to bring the younger people in too..
No matter what Leno's age is/was, he's always been more appealing to the older folks..:( (He played it too MOR)

"Bill O'Reiley wants a Peabody Award that bad, he can have mine" (said while abruptly and arrogantly setting his award on the desk in front of him)
