no surprise....humorless sticks in the mud thought Jon Stewart flopped
on the Academy Awards too. People who want to slam Colbert for being "a bit on the nose" and too uncomfortably truthful to be actually are the problem.

So many keep trying to create sacred cows that we treat very tenderly and tip toe around.

The f*cking media deserve to be excoriated along with Bush if for no other reason than their HORRIBLE sham job of being journalists in the period between September 12, 2001 through some time around mid 2004 when Howard Dean was unleashed onto the scene.

The people who crapped their pants when Michael Moore made his speech at the Oscars..the ones who constantly want to stifle and dumb down free speech in this country are the problems--not the cutting comedy of Colbert and friends.

1. JS was awful at the AA
Colbert was great at the WH.

5. The opening monologue was disappointing
But mostly the lame material around him (incessant clips which he actually made a good joke about) did him in.

2. It's a roast, and Colbert just did the job.
The fact is, these dinners can make fun of mannerisms, Cheney, and some of the things that are "naughty" but Bush really doesn't care to hide, like the fact he hates the press and goes to bed early. I mean, it's more of a way for Bush to tell everyone else to fuck off through "jokes" about himself then anything else. Colbert was an exception, and a reason why these things shouldn't be recorded if you have a 32% approval rating.

3. There is something seriously wrong with the media when you go to
Comedy Central for the real News and see a comedy of lies distortion and half truths on such organizations as Clown News Network (CNN) More Stupid News Brodcast Channel (MSNBC) and of course the Faux News channel (FOX)

4. I think the fact that he didn't go there to get laughs...
or to prove himself a gifted comedian (which he is) He had the courage to risk and endure the comic's worst nightmare of playing to a relatively quiet house. This is heroic! He took the opportunity to say things that sorely needed to be said. It was a face-off, a confrontation with the goddamn president and all his flunkies and suck-ups! Of course they didn't laugh!!! They were in shock seeing someone expose the bastard and rub his and their noses in it.
