May Day IS Labor Day in most of the World.

Here is a great interview on NPR to help us all understand what it's all about: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5369420

8 hour days, 40 hour weeks, the right to have a life outside work...

And correctly the interview shows how today's "white collar" worker needs activism of the May Day nature too.

It's not just Mill Workers or Steel Workers dammit but all of us who are not Capitalists!

Unite...Please Unite...Seriously we must Unite or eventually be snuffed out.

Edit: I sucked it up and watched the news on network TV today...No real connection with the Immigrant protests and May Day were made. They were both mentioned but not in connection which is another sign of Corpo Media Control over the thought processes of most Americans.

1. In my opinion, May Day should be Labor Day!
I think one of the biggest reasons the powers that be would not move Labor Day from the first Monday of September to May 1st is because it's associated with.....Socialism! And most Americans think Communism and Socialism are the same thing which is bunk!

From that, I hope you had a good Labor Day!

John

3. Thanks but I think that the general DUer doesn't give a crap about "Labor"
They are either too well off economically or just ignorant of their relation to "capital".

It's sad but indicative of what we think of as "liberals" or "Democrats" these days.

There is little class conciousness in America when the fact is that class conflict is about two moments away from erupting into real conflict.

Yesterdays immigrant rallies are exhibit "A".
