The netroots weakness. Why they don't think we count.
We don't vote. They think we are too idealistic to vote.

If we cannot become a voters block we will never get change and they will never take us seriously.

Politicians are like little kids in the store, the don't shut up and do what you want unless you buy them some candy. Votes are candy.

These spineless panderers aren't pandering to us because we have not demonstrated our power.

2006 is our time to do that. If we cannot demonstrate that all this typing translates into votes we are dead in the water. We might as well lie down and let the Repugs take the country to dictatorship.

2. Oh please
No amount of trickery is going to hide all our votes.

This is part of the strategy of defeat. Lie down and take it because there is nothing we can do about it anyway.

Bull!

If we produce enough votes they will all be counted.

3. Thank you for pissing on the enthusiasm this post engendered
For a moment there I felt hopeful - but your sage words brought me back down to earth.

In these dark days, it's important to remember that everything is hopeless.

6. How can you not be hopefull?
The Republicans are in the low 30% approval.

There has not been a better time to effect change in our lifetimes.

How many Republicans do you think hesitated in 1994 when they took the house?

5. unfortunately that's not actually true
We aren't a group yet.

American politics has always been the same. If you can put together a voting block you can advance your agenda.

The NRA, the Sierra Club, AARP, Texas Oil Men For Dictatorship.

You get my point. We think we are the base of the democratic party.

We are wrong. The base are the people who show up.

I know I am generalizing, I vote, I'm sure most of you do to. The key is to be identified as a block.
