Popups from hell--they are blocked--but you still have to look at them...

IE totally hose internet graphics because it isn't standards compliant. What you may consider "better" is actually not the way it is supposed to look. It is the result of the way the effed up IE browser mangles the code.

5. Have you installed FireFox plug-ins?

IE sucks the royal route!!
I use FF on DU and everywhere and my graphics look just fine!
When's the last time you updated FF? Installed extensions? Plug-ins?
Maybe your graphics card needs an update!?!
And I don't do pop-ups...ever!! You can turn that off in IE and in FF!
Sounds like you have some 'tweaking' to do!!
Just make FireFox your default browser and then only use FF when you go online.

8. Sounds like you might have some spyware on your machine

Download and run AdAware and Spybot and get rid of it. Always works for me. I just close any other incidental popups before they fully materialize. I think of it like a target practice video game.

I haven't tried Firefox.

and absolutely love the Google Tool Bar, which blocks pop-ups. I also have Spybot Search and Destroy and Spyware Blaster. Subscription anti-virus programs now also search for spyware. Anyhow, I never get pop-ups. I use I.E. and see DU just like the above screen shot. Never had a virus or a worm (knock wood), but I surf and open e-mails responsibly. :-)
