Just Desserts? Man Who Tossed Pie at Coulter Has to Pay

By E&P Staff

Published: January 10, 2006 10:45 AM ET

NEW YORK The second man accused of throwing a pie at columnist Ann Coulter in October 2004--and missing--pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault Monday, according to a story in the Arizona Daily Star of Tucson.

William Zachary Wolff, 25, was fined $250. But the fine will be suspended if he pays $915 to the University of Arizona for damage caused to a backdrop during the incident.

Police said Wolff and Phillip Edgar Smith threw tofu cream pies at Coulter as she spoke to 2,500 people at the university. They missed but hit the backdrop. Smith accepted the same plea agreement in November.

1. Well, you can take
the horse-faced woman to the pie, but you can't make her eat it. Oh sorry, guess I shouldn't be so mean to such a sweet little darling person.

3. I was in my senior year at the UofA when that happened here's the true

story.

Alright first off the bitch was brought to the UofA ON OUR FUCKING TUITION DOLLARS to satisfy the college republicans who were steamed that we brought Micheal Moore in.

Now when Micheal Moore came you had to pay $5 to get in.

His venue was the McKale Center-the infamous home of our Wildcats.....he completely sold the place out to the point of standing room only for hundreds of people.

The school made a PROFIT of nearly $70,000 on his appearance.

Now this bitch comes and there were NO ticket sales therefore her coming was being done on the backs of us the students.

It was FREE to see her, and she barely grabbed 100 attendees.....there were more people protesting outside of the place than there were who attended to swallow more of her bogus bullshit.

Now I don't agree that throwin a pie at her (despite that it does give to my more sinister side) was the best course of action, however to act like the school should be entitled to any kind of damages is ridiculous-her very appearance at a school that is largely liberal was the damage to the school.

And I don't mean damage in the we won't tolerate opposing views, no that's fine, but the point is the school not only paid for her entire trip and speech, but that fell on OUR backs, the student's backs, who largely voiced that they did not agree with having to pay for an appearance from her, but that they WOULD in fact be willing to shell out a few bucks to hear Micheal Moore crack wise on the * administration and republicans in general.

That's what you call Democracy. If she came in on own dollar and wanted to speak to everyone on campus with a big megaphone guess what? there is a free speech zone clearly labeled on the UofA mall, she can join the local psycho preachers there and spew all the bullshit she wants-she would just be ignored but her rights would be upheld. (Of course later security would escort her out for tresspassing-being on UofA property and not being a student or staff member)

Republican Conservatives talk a big game about how they support free market and ideas, however clearly they cannot put their money where their fucking mouths are.

Period.
