1. Yeah. It happened in Dubuque, IA
And she only has 10 months until retirement. She was (is) a special ed teacher. Maybe her next pupil should be bush. Ah wait, her students have potential, where bush doesn't. There is a post about this in the Iowa forum.

Welcome Aboard to DU !!!

I replied to your excellent post the other morning and didn't even look at your name, my husband is also retired Navy (STGCS) and had 2 tours of duty in Vietnam on the USS Goldsborough DDG-20. He served 20 years, and cannot stand what Bush has done to the military. Its a shame.

DUBUQUE, Iowa - A grandmother in eastern Iowa is getting one last call to duty.

Janet Grass, 52, had planned to retire from the military in about 10 months after spending 19 years in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Instead, she has been ordered to leave her job as a special-education teacher in Cascade to do security work in the Middle East.

"They're changing my career just as I'm retiring," she said. "I guess they wanted to try one more thing for me."
