You can tell the difference between who's Republican and who's Democratic when referring to our local Airport. Us Dems refer to it as "National Airport" and the smarmy Repugs refer to it as "Reagan National Airport." Yeah, when I hear the latter term it makes me nauseous. :puke:

My hat is off to you. :applause: That's one of the most stressful jobs in the world! I don't know how you do it, I'd run screaming from the tower in 10 minutes. ;)
You're right about "National" too. The day I call it "Reagan" is the day you'll know I've been taken over ny a pod-person.

Actually, I love the job. It's kinda satisfying, especially on busy days with thunderstorms (a lot of planes deviating around weather).

Nobody seems to remember that that Bush Sr. was such a staunch birth control advocate that his nickname at the UN was "Rubbers". Then Reagan crooked his gnarled and satanic finger, offered the VP slot, and sudddenly birth control in any form was anathema.

17. Yup. They named one after creepy Senator Ted Stevens, too (ANC). |
|
I think there should be a rule that you have to be dead before they name an airport after you.
Then there's Reagan (DCA). This is especially ironic, considering that Ronnie nearly destroyed the air traffic control system. All the pilots I know still call DCA "National."

20. What George H.W. Bush did |
|
Bay of Pigs, John F. Kennedy assassination, opposing the Civil Rights Act of 1964, call for invasion of Cuba, ambassador to the United Nations, made director CIA to stop Church Committee investigation, Involvement in the Ronald Reagan assassination, Bank of Credit and Commerce International, Guatemala, Iran-Contra, Gulf War, Iraq-gate, October Surprise, Panama Invasion, War on Drugs, Carlyle Group, Helped Osama bin Laden, Meeting with the bin Ladens on 9/11, Spawned several children who followed into their father's footsteps.
It's quite a list of accomplishments. The biggest accomplishment is that he got away with the above...

Its disgusting. They try to perpetuate the myth of these fuckups being good presidents by naming everything they can after them.
Nothing, though, will ever sicken me more than the "George Bush Center for Intelligence"
