Bush speech on CNN - he's supposed to take uncensored questions |
|
They're showing his speech from Louisville, Kentucky now.
Amazing how newsworthy it is when the President decides to actually take questions from citizens. Shocking.

With Dim Son, the lights are on, but nobody's home. So to speak.
Ok, I admit it--I actually kinda-sorta liked Bush I. I knew he was part of a rather evil group, but he actually seemed kinda nerdy and likeable in his own awkward way.
This guy, I just don't get how anyone can stand to look at him, let along listen to what he has to say, that's unscripted.

Where do you think W. Bush learned how to manipulate the press? H.W. Bush had nothing but contempt for the press. I remember his press conferences, he was ALWAYS hostile with the press and I don't mean figuratively, you could see the contempt in his eyes and hear it in his voice. He would rage at the press. Bush Senior acted like it was beneath him to talk to the press or the American people and explain himself. W.Bush learned that he isn't intelligent enough to manipulate and intimidate the press, so he just locks them out completely. Fuck both George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush!!!

I don't question that the whole Bush family consider themselves to be above most of us, and that things got testy as the term wore on with Poppy, at least in the early days of his administration, managed to make himself seem reasonably intelligent and the press conferences (as I recall) weren't excruciating for me to watch.

It's quite the odd juxtaposition here in Louisville (which went for Kerry, btw).
There's a large amount of the liberal set (even the far left) and a fair-sized amount of gays here, too. Then there's the pseudo-Christian set which seems to be getting louder and more hypocritical each year.

I think it was after his neologism "homicide bombers" went nowhere. I thought he'd moved on and was calling them "rejectionists" now. That Shrub--such a flair for the English language. :eyes:

92. there was something really suspicious about CNN |
|
taking such an effort to continuously say that * was taking "unscripted questions"... I saw Kyra Philips refer to that multiple times, almost as if the administration was demanding that it be reported in that way. I also found it odd that CNN spent so much time on what was essentially a campaign stop. There's no doubt CNN would never offer equal coverage now from a Democrat in a similar town hall format to balance the time.
