A taste of Canadian funny business, election -wise for you folks

This is from a show called the Rick Mercer report. THey took a con election ad and re-edited it. Funny as hell...

1. I watched Air Farce and This Hour Has 22 Minutes last Saturday
Very, very funny. Is it Jack Layton who is the NDP guy? They showed him looking like a rabbit, popping up at peoples' table in restaurants, etc. And their stuff on the Conservative guy (Harper?) was biting.

What do people do who don't get Canadian TV? I saw this after the end of a fun-filled day watching "Hockey Day in Canada", which I'm beginning to think is the best day in sports anywhere.

2. There used to be little T.V. ads about one or another small furry
animal.. and its lifestyle. The music in the background and a overvoice of the habits of such an animal. That is partially why it was so funny. I'm glad you enjoyed. I don't watch enough!

3. He looked just like him and he was nibbling on a carrot!
It's even funnier now.

I think one reason it's harder for us to know all your politicians is the (blessedly) short campaign season. Geeze, here they're already starting to run for '08.

4. Yes - and harder for us to get to know our politicians. A good thing!
So long as the neocons don't make it in.

I wonder if the neocons win in Canada - will the campaign be a perpetual thing of myths for us - as you poor souls have faced in the last 15 years?

I hope not.
