C-Span took ONLY REPUBLICAN callers this morning...
This morning's callers were asked to respond to the question of just where the Republican Party stands among its members since polls are apparently showing the Party to be losing favor among its own kind.

From the calls that I heard, I would say that at least one-third of the callers are disgusted with the GOP for various reasons and plan to vote either Independent or Democratic in November.

I can't remember anytime that C-Span has asked ONLY DEMOCRATS to call in, but of course, I may have missed such a day.

Frankly, I think that C-Span is again bowing to pressure from the WH and BushCo, to cut down on some of the strongly anti-administration calls that they get everyday.

1. yeah
I thought I was in Republican hell all of a sudden. The voices of logic and reason were few and far between. There were a few, but this format seemed to wave the red flags for all neaderthals to crawl out from under their rocks and sign in...

2. If I remember correctly
the person responsible for inviting Stephen Colbert to the WHPC dinner is the incoming CEO of C-SPAN. So it looks like they're not planning to knuckle under to BushCo pressure in the future.

And maybe this isn't BushCo pressure anyway, but another implicit endorsement of McCain for 2008.

7. Yes, I've got it....I keep the radio on AAR and the tv on C-Span so that
I can switch back and forth, especially if C-Span has one of those mealy-mouthed GOPs on praising this current administration.

They seem to be on about 2-3 times a week and never have hit on anything sane by my standards. They have other Repug orgs that they interview heavily as well. Rarely do they have on good dems unless there is an opposition voice to blow them out.

11. It's Been Astroturfing Bigtime Lately
Ahhh...there's my pal Steve Skully...wonder how he liked Stephen Colbert's performance on Saturday. I'll bet he wasn't very amused as he couldn't keep his paws off Tony Snow and Scotty.

I don't need to go into the bias on this show...F.A.I.R. has addressed it very nicely, and C-SPAN has yet to respond to the fact this network is a right wing operation that throws bones at us now and then, but its reason for being has always been to serve the Repugnican agenda. Brian Lamb set it up to give Repugnicans like Gnewt Gingrich face time (even if it were in an empty House chamber) that served a very important purpose in establishing what Jane Hamsher calls "The Mighty Wurlitzer"...the right wing scream machine that now dominates the radio and has turned the beltway press corpse into stenographers. Dibgy has a great post on this, too...read that article, then try to watch Washington Journal and think it's not biased. You can't do it.

Here's a show that gives legitmacy to the Moonie Times. This morning I caught Steve trying to raise some bucks for Claude Allen...reading a weapy story about how this poor shoplifter is having problems paying a laywer and that anyone can make a $12,000 tax-free donation to his defense fund. Of course he'd do the same thing for a Democrat :sarcasm:

The real capper on these "Repugnican only" segments is the constant thread that "we were once Democrats" or if you have any real beef with this regime, you're really a Democrat jumping on the Repugnican line.

I've long suggested a simple thing C-SPAN can do that can demonstrate their balance...whenever they take a call they always put up the state the call is coming from. My suggestion is to put that name in Blue, Red or Green depending on what line they're calling in on so viewers can know which line is being used. I've suggested this for nearly a decade...C-SPAN has yet to respond to my email.

Bon apetite...

They do this probably around once a month. And it goes back & forth between all dems, and all repubs.

15. c-span pretends it equally represents both political
lines of thought -- but the over representation of right wing guests makes any rational person question this.
