Appealing to Conservative Greed: National Health Care--Dems have had it |
|
wrong.
Dems, Liberals, Greens etc always seem to assume that altruistic ideas would be appealing to voters since public programs would ultimately benefit everyone.
We have failed with that message: the greedy jerks running this country don't give a flying rats ass--never have, never will.
How hard could it be putting together a business plan showing that nationalized healthcare would mean more money in the pockets of CEO's from corporations such as Dell, Walmart, Microsoft, Coke/Pepsi? That is the ONLY thing that will get the corporations to sit up and take notice, and send their highly paid lobbyists to DC to demand it.
Any ideas? I am a religion major, can barely use a calculator.

Because we'd be pitting them against the HUGE health insurance/ pharmaceutical/healthcare industry -- only a Microsoft or WalMart would have the clout.
It would be a lobbyist free-for-all, seeing who could buy the most politicians. Where's Jack Abramof when you need him?

The insurance companies could still make tons of money with life/home/renters...I mean, face it; there's a shitload of stuff to insure.
The pharmaceutical companies could do even better...lots of new people that can now afford drugs-- Get everyone on viagra, and that other crap they put out.
The Walmart pharmacies would make tons: now their employees could afford drugs--
