David Shuster Battles Fox, Evil
David Shuster Battles Fox, Evil

If you're not a regular TVNewser reader, MSNBC's David Shuster has gotten into quite the little pissing match with Fox News' horde of damage control experts.

It all started when Shuster explained to his hometown paper, The Herald-Times, why he left Fox, and, in the process, criticized the network. It wasn't the first time he'd said such things, but this time Fox hit back--hard, as they are prone to do.

Fox execs decided to publicize details out of his confidential HR file.

Now Shuster has hit back again: "If I want to do a hit job on Fox News, everybody at that organization knows that I could tear them apart," he tells TVNewser. "Everybody there also knows that it would be a severe mistake to try to start a battle with me. Roger Ailes, John Moody, and the rest of management knows that I would do far more damage to them than they could ever do to me."

9. I'll match it.
David Shuster's reports are some of the only segments worth watching on MSNBC.

3. Disgruntled and bitter?
Yeah, I'd feel the same way if I was required to daily sniff the Bush farts they keep in jars over at FoxNews.

6. Who, Faux?
Shuster sounds like he has an excellent attitude about this whole thing, if the interview with him that I read (the hometown newspaper interview mentioned in the OP) is any indication.

NGU.

7. Yes, Faux says he's disgruntled and bitter...
His contract with Faux wasn't renewed.

I think they're going after him because he's also reporting some blockbuster info about the Plamme affair as well as his interview with his hometown paper. I'm glad he's threatening Faux right back.

10. We know who is disgruntled and bitter...

Little known fact maybe...

I happened to be up during the "Tookie" execution, and was watching the little news conference they had with each of the media witnesses afterwards. I was flipping back and forth through all the channels. Rita Cosby came up, and when it came time for her to identify herself and give her statement, Fox cut the feed off and went back into the studio, and had their in-studio commentators speak. I turned it back to MSNBC to watch the rest of the news conference, thinking Fox had finished showing it. Well, surprise surprise, when Cosby stopped speaking, Fox cut immediately back into the news conference. Weird, I thought. So I paid attention a little more closely. Lo and behold, everytime Rita Cosby said something, Fox would cut away, refusing to air her comments. It became especially obvious, seeing as how Cosby was kinda hogging the mike a bit, and was commenting much more than those around her.

So everytime she said something, Fox would switch back to the studio and the reporter there would talk, and when she finished, sure enough, they went back to the news conference at the execution.

Granted, maybe it doesn't seem that important to most people, but I thought it was a despicable display of journalistic integrity. Whether she left your station or not, she was still a reporter commenting on the news event you were reporting on, so why do that? If you're gonna manipulate the news coverage in that way, what lengths would you go to? Where will you stop?

So to bring this all back on topic, there's no doubt that Fox is the bitter one. Everyone knows they are full of shit to begin with, but it's really surprising how scummy they really are. That incident with Cosby REALLY opened my eyes about how deceitful they truly are.

4. good for him! Fox's little bully tactic is so typical. Then they wonder
why people find them unprofessional to say the least.

5. Do the people over at Fox ever wonder why the hell they are there?
I mean don't they ever just stop and think why they are devoted to Darth Stupidass and Emperor Pacemaker when they have been screwed by them constantly. Those people are sick.
