Katie Couric is a raging *sshole control freak, says Stephanie Miller |
|
She's doing a funny bit after reading a news story that says Couric went nuts and is making all sorts of demands about her going-away party, such as who can attend, her favorite foods, etc. LOL! Why am I not surprised? The "network darling" is another full-of-herself control freak.

3. I was spanked at DU for "Katie- bashing" |
|

I'm inclined to dislike anyone who makes $60,000 for one day's work, but don't think she's a bad human being. She did donate a big wad of $$$$ to create the Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health in NYC... my friend was the PM for the hospital on that and said she was down-to-earth and a nice person to deal with. BUT,, for someone with that income she is a TIGHTWAD and haggler- I read online recently that she had an agency call back the weekend nanny that she'd interviewed to let her know that she had misquoted the salary by $50--- TOO MUCH. Geez... imagine, she didn't want to overpay her nanny by 50 bucks!
(Why would a very rich person antagonize the person who's gong to watch their kids, for $50???)

10. I'm not a fan of Katie Couric - but it sounds to me like old fashioned |
|
double standards for men and women.
Of course no one likes men to be assholes either, but when successful men make demands it tends to get a better reception than when women do the same.

12. Is that not the truth! Women are perceived as 'Stepford wives' and too |
|
timid, too conventional and too controlled, or as too aggressive, too controlling; i.e. "bitchy"...
And still, even in this day and age, a woman's hairstyle seems more important to the media than the content of her brain and character.

13. Indeed. I'm sure there are many men at Couric's level (of |
|
salary, power, whatever) who are as demanding or exacting, but I don't think I ever hear about them in this way.
Personally I couldn't care less if she wants a say in who comes to her patry or not.

11. It is my considered opinion... |
|
.... that probably 90% of all "celebrities", be they anchors, actors, actresses, athletes, musicians, politicians, CEOs, you name it - are indeed and in fact assholes.
In fact, one could argue that in our society, we actually reward asshole behavior and half the reason these folks rose to their positions is their general assholery.
