Horse sense tells me we can't survive these gas prices w/out the economy |
|
taking a big shit. Add on record gold prices, war drums beating, worse news everyday, things feel freaky.

1. gas prices will affect the our eco-system, to be sure |
|
it will translate to everything from higher food prices to higher prices for discretionary goods, and everything in between.

3. Then buy another horse, IMO, this one's DOA ... |
|
It won't be good for any of us but I foresee we WILL tank into a recession before the November elections. However, we'll be too scared to give a shit because we'll be up to our eyeballs with saber rattling against Iran and Fear of the Birdie Flu. :puke:

Everything in our economy is attached to oil. |
|
Oil goes up, everything gets more expensive. It's going to be a long road ahead.
Where is Hari Seldon when you need him? Would you think this is a Seldon crisis?

7. You should see whats happening with shipping costs. |
|
I have someone in Australia interested in having a banjo shipped. UPS shipping cost came in at $470.00. Ouch!!!!! Air mail with the post office was only $180.00 but that is still a ton of money and it keeps getting more and more expensive. Shipping cost has gotten to be my largest expense.

kinda shows that the wealthy don't have much confidence in the economy, if they're literally hoarding gold...

is right. Think of oil as the lifeblood of our economy. Black blood, pumping throughout the sectors of our business, trade, industry. We even eat oil: most farms use petroleum-based fertilizers.
Without oil, we go back to the Stone Age.
Now think of the US. The Middle East is the heart of this lifeblood. We're building 14 bases in order to suck out what's left of it.

15. I've thought the economy has been sliding for awhile now |
|
but strangely, the media keeps saying that inflation isn't happening and that things are fine. I know my property tax has nearly tripled since 2000. Health care costs have gone through the roof. The cost of education is getting ridiculous. The cost of a gallon of gas was already killing me, even before the latest rise at the pump. Meanwhile, I'm making less than I made in 2000. Will the government and media keep playing with the statistics and tell us everything is fine, in spite of gasoline prices?
