BUMPER STICKING IT TO GEORGE W. BUSH -------------->
If Bush can stick it to us with these outrageous gas prices -- not to mention this fiasco of a war -- we can stick it to him, literally:

2. NICE!
:yourock:
But some of them are just a tad...well...intellectual.
I liked and got them, but a majority of the target audience has been so dumbed down and accustomed to being spoon-fed its "wake up and get it" message that it would go right over their pointed little heads.
You want something that they can get IMMEDIATELY, since thinking is either a painful or unaccustomed activity.

Jes' sayin'...

5. Neocons won't get the Casus Belly one
I once made the mistake of using the word "caviat" in conversation and was told I was stuck up, elitist, etc, etc. There is definately a lot of people in this country who are militantly anti-intellectual.

The can't govern but they can sure come up with meaningless but appealing catch phrases.

"Net Neutrality": Why are the Bad Guys So Much Better at Naming Things?

Why are the bad guys so much better at naming things? No Child Left Behind. Healthy Forests. Clear Skies. The PATRIOT Act. "Net Neutrality" legislation should be a no-brainer. People should have as instant and passionate a gut reaction to it as they did to the Dubai ports deal. But "Net Neutrality" is an utterly befuddling name. When you first hear it, what immediately pops into your head? A tennis match in Switzerland? It's marketing death and needs to be rebranded. How about: No Blogger Left Behind? The Internet Freedom Act? The Yes to GOD Act (aka Yes to Google on Demand)? Whatever its name, you can join 400,000 others in supporting Internet freedom by signing this petition to Congress.

20. Guess Who's Sticking It
US hegemony, democracy goals in Mideast a doomed mix
by Leon Hadar

One of the best television commercials I have seen in a while comes from Sprint promoting its "Fair & Flexible Plan" for cell phones. We see a pompous business executive discussing the Sprint plan and then telling his assistant that joining the plan is his way of "sticking it to the Man."

The assistant is shocked: "But, sir, you ARE the Man."

"I know," responds the executive.

"So you're sticking it to yourself?" his aide asks.

The executive says: "Maybe."

It seems to me that this television commercial can help illustrate what is wrong with the Bush administration's policy in the Middle East. To put it in simple terms, the entire American foreign policy establishment is promoting a strategy based on the need for the United States to be the hegemonic power, the Boss, the Man, in the Middle East. At the same time, the same administration, led by its neoconservative ideologues, is advancing a policy of democracy-promotion and holding free elections in the Middle East, which runs contrary to its goal of establishing hegemony in the region. In a way, when it comes to Washington's two contradictory goals in the Middle East – preserving hegemony and advancing democracy – President George W. Bush, the Man, not unlike the business executive in the Sprint commercial, is "sticking it to the Man" – to himself, that is.
