1. People wouldn't be doing this if there was security at the borders
Nevermind security at our airports and seaports on top of that. There can be no sound long-term immigration policy if there is no way to police the borders at all.

8. New Law in AZ
Edited on Wed May-03-06 12:53 PM by Wheres The Beef
Just passed and signed making human smuggling a crime. The sheriff has interpreted this to mean that illegals are breaking that law by paying the smugglers and that they are participating in the crime. The author of the bill has said that this was not his intent, but that will be up to the courts to decide.

As an aside when these people are booked Joe has them register for the draft. The law requiring all men between 18 and 24 does apply to illegal aliens as well.

5. stil 97% to 3%., alas. arpaio is an absolute idiot., and many loathe
his tactics, yet he still manages to get re-elected.

quite frankly, I do believe this whole immigration problem and the attention being paid to it right now are nothing more than a distraction from the miserable failure that is this mal-administration.

7. You know what I would truly, genuinely enjoy seeing?
I would like to see a proposal to put National Guard on the border.

Of course, naturally, the NG would have to recruit.

They could target anti-immigrant Republicans, tell them to enlist and they will put them at a guard station on the border.

Tons of right-wing freaks would enlist.

Then ship their sorry asses off to Iraq...

"Sorry, you're needed there"

Bring our troops currently in Iraq home, let them secure the border.

Wow, I assumed that the voters would have grown tired of his publicity stunts years ago.
