What a &^%^%#$%$@# Mess........
Yes, I'm pissed. My vote will NOT count. For those of you that are clueless as to what I'm talking about:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=1089404&mesg_id=1089673

I called the Board of Elections again and they found the problem, although they don't know what to do about it, or how to fix it. Apparently, someone else is using my voter ID #. (The man at the BOE was astonished and had no idea how this happened) All my information is the same, other than the name and address. This person registered in early April of this year. They said they cannot change it.........WTF??? They did give me this person's name and address.

The BOE said that my Provisional will NOT count, as someone is using my voter ID #. Wonderful, huh? (Their records confirm this "is" my ID #) The best that they could tell me to do is to write the BOE and explain what was told to me today.............????

If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them as I'm frustrated as hell.......and tired of making calls to the BOE. Is there anything else I can do other than writing the very board that I've been speaking with?

Thanks in advance.

One pissed-off chick in Ohio

7. That person might not have done anything wrong...
They might have gone in to register and been assigned a number that was already in use.

It's a stupid, stupid, mistake to make -- and who knows, maybe even deliberate. Maybe someone thought it would be a good idea to reassign all those democratic voter numbers...

What a great  on the part of those who can't win elections based on their party performance, and thus have to resort to STEALING VOTES through whatever ILLEGAL avenues they avail themselves of.

2. ALERT THE MEDIA AND THE DNC...give them NAMES of people
you talked to. GO DOWN to town/city hall, or BOE, and personally speak with someone about this.

This is voter disenfranchisement, and someone broke the law. Come to think of it, you might want to go down to the police station and file a complaint. YOU may not be able to get the name of the person who stole your Voter ID, but they should be able to....

4. Damn.. That sucks..in spades
Every election season, I call or visit the registrar's office to make sure everything's current..

Last election, during the primary, they tried to give me a republican ballot..I created a bit of a scene and they gave me the democratic one, but a typo had me down as a repube.. Of course I didn;t notice it until I had already put the darned card into the machine, and when the poor old guy came to try and reset it with the new one, he could not figure out how to do it, so I went to a diffwerent machine with a different card. he had to call HQ to find out how to even turn the machine off :)

At least with calling your Reps. Honestly, call right now while you are feeling it.

The media can wait a day and you'll have more information, you'll have taken some action and be able to tell them about the response you're getting.

But call the Reps (and the Ohio Dem Party ASAP).

Get to the County Courthouse! Or call BofE and explain that you want to vote via affidavit ballot. If that don't work, call civil rights attorney Michael Sussman (Goshen, NY - one of the best civil rights attorneys in the country). He might not get your vote to count, but he will bring hell upon the BofE!

21. I'd contact John Conyers' Office
He's been all over Election Fraud in Ohio, and the question must be asked: if your ID is being "used" by someone else, how many other Democrats' IDs are registered to another (perhaps Republican) voter?

This could be a fluke, or something bigger.

Either way, it illustrates a vulnerability in the voting system in Ohio.

I'd also contact Mark Crispin Miller (Author of "Fooled Again") and blogs that have been following election fraud (BradBlog has been all over election fraud). I'd also post at Kos.

PM me for help/contacts.

24. Thanks for all your thoughts.......
I started off with calling my local congressman. Let's just say that he was very shocked....and very interested. He took down all the information. He seemed pissed that the BOE seemed to brush me off, said it's a federal crime and they have the special prosecutor at their disposal. Said this should have been passed over to him. (BOE also suggested that I "just" go to the local library and re-register. ???)

He's on it and will call back. In the meantime, I'll make some more calls. (as well as checking into my credit report, as suggested)

What a joke........Makes you wonder how many others this has happened to and were brushed off.

45. Everyone should check before voting day and make sure your
registration is up to date and you have a valid I.D. number.
This happened to my husband in 2000. It was an "honest" mistake, they said. We had moved, changed our place of voting, he had voted in our new precinct on local issues. Went to vote in the presedential election and they didn't have him listed. They found him listed "active" at our old precinct and he drove 60 miles to vote.

Prior to 11/2004, I checked our local office to make sure we both could vote without a problem. I'll do the same before this November.

Stay with it, my friend. Our situation could have been a mistake. What's happening there seems to be serious and the local people don't seem to be very interested in the fact,
your VOTE has been taken.

Sorry you have such a mess to resolve. Hopefully, the people you've called will help.

49. Get hold of a "Class Action" Trial lawyer - like Joel Hyatt
Contacting the people you have and alerting them is all well and good. It must be done and can get some "results."

But I would suggest that you at least explore "going massive." For all you/we know this "glitch" occurs in the thousands or tens of thousands; in critical areas.

This could be THE smoking gun on all election thefts since 2000. And even if it isn't, it can be treated as such until disproved.

What I mean specifically is that you should try to secure a high-profile celebrity attorney and sue the State of Ohio, Ken Blackwell personally as SOS, and even this "John Doe" who voted with your number (you don't have to care how it happened).

You should sue for damages in the tens of millions, in anticipation of a class action suit bringing in all thwarted voters. The big dollar sign will get coverage and make an impact.

I would suggest you try to get a meeting with Joel Hyatt himself. He's got big-time "juice" in Ohio and is "currently" the business partner of Al Gore.

We've been working to put the "burden of proof" where it belongs. On those who are charged with giving the People election results they can have confidence in.

Your case could be a huge advance toward that goal. (Please feel free to PM me if you'd like to explore this option further in private.)

51. One thing I've noticed in all the coverage of the latest
problems in Ohio is frequent reference to unnamed election "supervisers."

They are described as dropping the ball, giving erroneous info (lie), not knowing how to run the machines, not showing up, failing to respond, not doing their jobs.

Are the election supervisors appointed by Blackwell? It seems that the fraud is very widespread and entrenched again and nothing has been done to correct it.

Imagine if you had someone at the Registrars office giving Democratic numbers to new Republican registrars?
