Did you see the Colbert Report last nite? Why I REALLY dig this guy
Edited on Wed May-03-06 01:22 PM by CatWoman
he is completely unapologetic about his WHCD performance, as evidenced by last night's running of the edited "press conference".

We've seen way too many people cave and immediately issue apologies once the RW hacks start attacking.

Kick ass, Stephen.

then kick some more.

2. I'm not caving - I'm showing him off to everyone..
It doesn't matter when people see his performance, so long as they see it.

3. I was hoping he was going to attack himself.
Giving himself a Wag of the Finger, or maybe debate himself.

4. He knows he did good
Getting the press mad at him shows he did it right! And that they "got it."

He was cute with Huckabee too. For a repub he seems OK...what is his deal?

6. Huckabee?
He's the governor of Arkansas, and he has actually done some decent things about making it easier for Arkansans to find out about wellness and staying healthy. That being said, he's also a bit petty. He's banned the Arkansas Times, a liberal newspaper, from getting press releases from his office. Since they come via email any more, it is really petty, imho.

Oh yeah, he's thinking of running for President. Needless to say, I have never voted for him and never will.

13. I liked that people laughed when he showed it last night.
I know, some laughed on Saturday, I know. But when he played it on his show the audience laughed a lot more than the Saturday crowd did.

Hat's off to the "it-getters."

15. Colbert ran his Press Sec'y tape, but edited out the "Why did you Invade
Iraq?" parts. The part where Helen asks that specific question was edited out, as was the part where Colbert runs to the parking garage help box and the attendant asks the same question. Both those parts were NOT in the re-run of the tape.

Have to wonder of Comedy Central kowtowed to the Chimperor's ire...

17. Helen's question was there, but the parking garage help box bit
was edited out (just checked this by re-viewing the clip at Comedy Central). Probably edited out for time, not content.

23. I noticed that the "Gannon" button didn't get a chuckle at the press
dinner although most of the "normal" people I've talked to howled when they saw it. Interesting, eh?

21. Colbert Nation reigns supreme. Jon Stewart has been supplanted.
Donning my flamesuit, but I really doubt Jon has the cajones to do what Steven did. Stewart often softballs his neocon guests.

Colbert Nation does reign supreme. I have my DVR set to record it every night. Jon Stewart is right, Colbert is ballsalicious!
