Does anyone know the story behind this pic? Not that it came from
Juan's website, but why was this kid incarcerated? Or was he just visiting his dad and his pops wasn't allowed to get that frigging thing off his head for two red hot seconds to kiss his son? What's the story? Anyone know? Thx.

1. As I recall
it was a child visiting his father. Why the hood on the father is beyond me.

2. Why was the kid imprisoned?
Because they grabbed the dad and figured they'd take the kid, potential terrorist and all that.

There's other photos of US troops patting down little girls, instances of troops torturing the children of suspects in order to get them to talk, etc.

This particular photo won a major award.

8. actually, my recollection is that they allowed the father to comfort the
kid, the kid was not being taken away.

nonetheless chilling, though, because they would not even allow the hood to be removed so he could kiss his son goodbye.

7. sadly, I vividly recall the story...The father was being taken to Abu
Ghraib, and the son was inconsolable. The "compassionate" soldiers relented and allowed the father to briefle comfort the son, BUT NOT REMOVE THE HOOD, and then yanked the father away afterwards, abandoning the son, who knew not the fate of his father.

chilling.

indelibly recorded on my soul.

10. We suck
We just plain suck. And some people don't get why the rest of the world hates us.

Except Poland.

12. ditto
I wonder how those soldiers felt watching this, I'm sure some of them have children but they also have their orders to follow. That sucks imagine how they felt witnessing this.
