WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- President Bush on Wednesday repeated a warning to the U.S. Senate that he will veto the emergency spending bill currently under debate if it exceeds his request for $92.2 billion plus additional funds related to bird-flu pandemic preparations. The bill, which will fund ongoing military operations in the Middle East and Gulf Coast hurricane relief efforts, has seen the Republican-controlled Senate add billions for additional, non-emergency projects, bringing the total size of the bill to around $109 billion so far. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., has said he would vote to sustain a veto. The House version of the bill hews closer to Bush's $92.2 billion requst

1. He's trying to veto SOMETHING...ANYTHING..before he leaves office..
that'll remove at least one asterisk from his name in the presidential hall of shame.

2. well the problem with bush trying to VETO anything
is that he can't find a stamp that says VETO, all he can find under his desk is a stamp that say OTEV

just my two cents - but if GOPers want their bloated bill signed by bush - all they have to do is throw in the tax cuts for bush*'s buddies
