Sounds like the Bush Bird Flu plan is "every person for themselves" |
|
aka "chaos". Of course it is promised the Army will be called in to maintain order. Wow. We can't vote correctly anymore. We can't close our borders if the Flu turns killer. Our medical infrastructure is rotten to the point that there will be "prioritizing" (rationing). Call me a pessimist, but I think the rich and richer will be the ones receiving the care. Remember the Titanic? I guess we're a few lifeboats short. Or is it the Hindenburg after all and we'll ALL go up in a flaming wreck? Has anyone heard anything encouraging?
Now, I know the chances of the Flu going pandemic are not that great, but what IF?

2. I heard bush told states and communities not to depend on the feds for |
|
assistance if the bird flu broke out. My first thought was that every state would have the right to close its borders to protect itself.

I have a client who was in the meeting in Nevada a few months ago when the Feds met with State folks to discuss bird flu. To paraphrase, the message communicated to the state folks was "the plan is that there is no plan - here's a million dollars - now go make your own plan."
The guy was totally freaked when he told me.
