$666.60 eeeek! Could that be a really bad omen for the dollar between that and Guy's rant wow...

4. When the Hunt brothers
cornered the silver market it made the silver content of all pre-1942 UK coins, which were solid silver, worth less than the silver content. People were gathering them up in bundles and selling them for scrap. Same appied to a lot of the "family silver" - teapots , hot water jugs and sugar bowl sets etc.

Platinum is likely to sky high as well as gold.

the silver was worth more than the monetary values of the coins and also worth more than the likely sale value of the teapots etc. The acceleration in the price of silver at the time was phenomenal.

Those coins were still in ciculation at the time - not collectors items. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear.
