Just can't get into the Moussaoui Thing...What's Wrong with Me /American?
Edited on Wed May-03-06 08:25 PM by KoKo01
Why can't I be out in the streets "dancing" over his conviction.

I feel Un-American...Not Patriotic...but...I wonder how the "rest of America feels?

1. Relieved & glad justice was served correctly, only rejoicing that
that Thought Criminals aren't automatically killed.

2. I'm proud of the jurors...
They sent a strong message to the rest of the world...We are NOT barbaric like this current administration. That gives me comfort.

Peace.

No point in becoming exactly the same as the murderer by murdering them.

3. I only know that I'm happy that they are not killing him. He needs to
live in more ways than one.

I've had it up to hear with death. I was raised to be against the death penalty. It wasn't just a lesson. My soul which is older than this body says no.

A question - are they going to go after those of the 19 that are said to be living in Morocco and some other countries - are they going to now put them on trial?

6. I understand that. I think he's just crazy and the admin is using him
as a scapegoat.

After all, the truly guilty parties are dead for the most part.

If it were Osama, another story. Why isn't it Osama? Interesting question to pose to right wing nuts.

7. Where the Fk is bin Laden? That's how I feel.
Spending thousands or millions of dollars on that farce instead of getting spies on the ground in

Pakistan to get bin Laden. That trial was just an F'n circus. I wonder how come it was not on CourtTV. At

least the MotherFr does not get to be a Martyr.

Why again was this man going to be locked away for life? What did he DO? I think he's crazier than shit and the media needs a circus/scapegoat/closure. I think it's pretty damn weak.

12. Agree...He might have "mental problems" but he's been held as the Poster
Child for those who "supposedly" (if you read the weird stuff about 9/11 and how the FBI amazingly found a LIST of the terrorists immediately..yet can't find the Anthrax Foe's) that HE was TOTALLY the Poster Boy for what the Bushie's hope as RETRIBUTION for their SINS!

Ugh....I don't know about putting Mentally Ill folks in Prison...or if he really is "mentally ill" or what the heck to think.

But, it sort of seems "Much Ado about NOTHING" at this point. Maybe I'm just tired and jaded....

14. he was brought to trial b/c he didn't warn govt about 9-11?
is that right??......but many govts warned bushco about an imminent attack and they didn't pay any attention......why assume they would have listened to him???

if this indeed is the reason he was on trial, why didn't bushco follow up on people FBI etc were monitoring???

if I'm anywhere near right, it seems like bushco picked him to pursue to try to make public forget about all the warnings they didn't pursue...... a major CYA project to make it look like bushco cares about US security

20. That's what drives me nuts..
no one seems to notice that glaring truth. It's funny that he got a pot shot in at the CIA and made a comment that he would be let out when Bushes term is over, hmmm wonder when he heard that? was a deal made? I think they cut him off (saying he couldn't make a poltical speech) so that he wouldn't reveal any more.

17. the government wanted a scape goat to convict
A doofus, in jail when the awful deed was done, who desperately wanted to be 'somebody' and who had an abiding hatred for this country.

The assertion that he could have run to the FBI and told them "he and a bunch of his friends were going to hijack a buncha jets and fly them into buildings", and that anyone would have seriously listened to him is remarkably stupid.

The PDB the month before 9/11 told Bush the same thing in a headline and he ignored it.

18. This is so common in criminal trials where...
the crime was so heinous that the prosecutor sees some need to satisfy the public's lust for blood. But, the shooter or mastermind is nowhere to be found, or cut a deal, so someone, ANYONE, must pay the price.

Moussaoui is a dangerous loon and somnething should be done with him-- what that is, I'm not sure. But, I am sure that the theatrics from the prosecution trying to have him killed was a revolting display. That was not a call for justice-- it was just a call for blood.
