OMG!: Cheney Lectures Russia About Reform...
Cheney Lectures Russia About Reform By DAVID ESPO, AP Special Correspondent

VILNIUS, Lithuania - Vice President Dick Cheney accused Vladimir Putin's Russia on Thursday of restricting the rights of its citizens, and said "no legitimate interest is served" by turning energy resources into implements of blackmail.

"In Russia today, opponents of reform are seeking to reverse the gains of the last decade," Cheney told a conference of Eastern European leaders whose countries once lived under Soviet oppression, and now in Russia's shadow.

Cheney's speech blended praise for the progress Eastern European countries have made toward democracy since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, with an exhortation to continue on the same path.

"The democratic unity of Europe ensures the peace of Europe," he said.

He said Russia has a choice to make when it comes to reform, and said that in many areas, "from religion and the news media to advocacy groups and political parties, the government has unfairly and improperly restricted the rights of the people."

1. So how come the US wants to implement, amongst other things,
big restrictions on internet usage and monitoring people?

Let me guess:

"Conformity is the only freedom."

Freedom itself invites abuse.

Of course, people in control also tend to abuse.

Nobody is raised to be kind or nice. Everybody's out for #1, and it's be for #0.5 if possible - anything to cut down on the numbers.

3. I am waiting for Putin to tell Cheney
you have no right to criticize because you are doing the same thing in the States. The hypocrisy of this administration is shameful.

5. Cheney lecturing Putin about reform
is like John Gotti lecturing the Bloods and Crips about law and order.

6. Our foreign relations are already in the toilet...
why do they send the Minister of Doom out to spread the love? They're just deliberately trying to stir up the hornet's nest, no doubt in my mind.

Fast-Track up this whole Armeggedon thing. Speed up the Neo-Con Utopia and welcome the blond haired, blue eyed Jesus (who will no doubt descend from white Heaven driving a Hummer on his way to Wal Mart to buy ammo for his AR-15 which he will use to hunt gays)

7. No problem if he had kept it to democracy, but adding the part
about oil was just so blatant. Whoever has oil has power, and Cheney et al cannot complain. That's the way they operate. But when the show is on the other foot, other nations are supposed to be charitable and kind? Too much.

And I guess we won't attack Russia because they have WMD or because they are not democratic enough. Wonder why not?

8. Let's see, US using Russian and other prisons for torture
Cheney is such an idiot. He thinks everyone is as foolish and easily confused as his 16% base is.
