It won't necessarily be right about that, but if we see more and more of these ambuscades from the audience in the coming months, Colbert's performance might be seen as the turning point. (Which would be a little unfair to Cindy Sheehan and all the other brave dissidents who have gotten in the face of the Bushists, but history isn't always fair.)

And I've got the copyright!
But seriously, folks, I think Cindy's groundwork make Colbert's that much more effective--after all, she wasn't a public figure. And though the effect was the same in capturing the imagination of the public, they used slightly different routes to get at the truth. So I think their legacies can peacefully co-exist.
